Photos from the Canonization Mass
and July 2002 trip to Guadalupe

La Crosse Diocesan Priests
with Bishop Burke at Canonization Mass.
Father Pat is far left.

We
left for the Basilica at 3:30 a.m. on Canonization Day. When we
arrived in Mexico City we learned that our tour company had not obtained
tickets for us to Concelebrate the Canonization Mass. Bishop Burke
went to the Basilica the day before the Canonization and somehow obtained
tickets for me, Father Gilles, Father Hirsch and Father Blasewicz to
Concelebrate. The following pictures are an account of this most
wonderful day. More pictures are on the way. I took these
pictures myself. As I receive photos from others, I'll include them
as well. You'll be able to see that we had *wonderful* seats.
The four of us were part of the 78 priests who were vested in Chasubles
provided by the Basilica. We were seated in the row behind the
Bishops, on the near right side, at the foot of the Altar. |

A huge television screen
within the Basilica allowed us to see the
Atrium and the arrival of the Holy Father by Popemobile.
