This is an example of our daily <MP>Morning Prayer.   The format changed completely on Thursday, 13 September 2007.  It consists of a very short Scripture reading from the Mass for the day, from the Lectionary.  If there is a Saint celebrated that day there is a short description of the person's life.  A Meditation for the Day enfleshes the Scriptures for the day and sometimes the Saint of the Day as well.  There there is a short Prayer for the day.   Members may also submit prayer intentions and ask the entire group to remember those intentions them in their prayers.  It's that simple!  Links to the complete Lectionary readings for the Mass of the Day is included, along with a link to the Saint of the Day. Try it, we think you'll like it!  It's amazing how things can change for the better when we give God this extra minute or two to pray each day.

"BELOVED: Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity." ~First Letter of Saint Paul to Timothy 4:12-16

"You did not anoint my head with oil, but she anointed my feet with ointment. So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; hence, she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little."

~Luke 7:36-50

Saints Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and Companions

103 Christians in Korea were martyred during the persecutions of 1839, 1846, 1866-7. Andrew Kim Taegon was the first Korean priest and pastor. Paul Hasang was the first lay apostle. Martyrs included mostly laity, but also priests and bishops. The Church in Korea grew and was strengthened through the blood of these holy martyrs. As Saint Andrea Kim Taegon said, "I urge you to remain steadfast in faith, so that at last we will all reach heaven and there rejoice together."

St. Andrew Kim Teagon and his Companions gave their lives because of their love for God and the people they served. Paul reminds people that, no matter how young or old they were, they should set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. The "sinful" woman in today's Gospel anoints Jesus feet, out of love for him and sorrow for her many sins. Faith in action is what love is all about.

I pray that today I may not judge others. I pray that I can show my love for God by the way I treat those around me. I count on God's strength to help me live according to His will.

We continue to pray for member Harry who has moved from 100% oxygen to 80% and is now improving! Lisa asks prayers for her dad who is having surgery. Janet asks prayers for her nephew who is struggling with severe depression. Peter asks prayers for his daughter who has been placed in Detox for 72 hours. Joe asks prayers for his girlfriend who needs prayers for healing and a good diagnosis. Myra asks prayers for a family who has lost their youngest son. A member asks prayers for herself and a friend in search of new jobs.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a good day!

We pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a good day!
