Not all of us have been to the Sacrament of Reconciliation recently. We may be confused about the changes in the Rite of Reconciliation and be a little nervous that we'll forget what to say. That's why I've prepared a page to help. Click here to read more about the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
I've prepared a card too, to help you feel more secure when you actually go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It doesn't include all the words that might be said, but all the words you'll actually need are right there!
If you fold it in half, it's the same size as a credit card. Laminate it if you'd like, and keep a copy in your billfold or purse. Print the page its on, and you'll have copies for five of your friends, too.
It doesn't matter if you haven't been to Confession for five months or fifty years, this little card will make it much easier for you. It contains a very brief Examination of Conscience. If the priest asks you to pray an "Act of Contrition," you can pray one in your own words, if you like. If you'd feel more secure, just pray the one found on the card. It's probably close to the one you learned as you were growing up.
