•    During the season of lent, I have been spending a lot of time in prayer. I was also trying to grow closer to the Lord by finding new Catholic web sites that would really help me be more prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I ran across Father Pat's
Examination of Conscience link which I thought was very good. I find that too many people don't think they should go to confession and tell me they really don't think they do anything serious enough to confess. Father Pat's Examination of Conscience was very simple and practical. Praise the Lord for his web site.

I just discovered your web-site. I especially liked the (your?) picture at First Communion. It reminded me of mine in May of 1956. I used to be a pre-Vatican II Catholic. I received Baptism, Penance, Holy Communion and Confirmation in the Old Catholic Liturgy, but I like the New Liturgy much more.
I am going to stay with you through Lent. It helps to know that your resource is there to read and practice.

I'm 55 year old pathologist from Oshkosh, and I too have had a lifelong love of fountain pens. Until about a year ago, I was buying modern pens at the rate of about one a year for about 15 years. Then I discovered vintage! I've attended several shows and acquired a fair number of great pens. My tastes in pens appear similar to yours. Currently, I'm teaching myself to restore them. I've restored several Sheaffer lever fillers (flattops and balances) and I recently tried my hand at replacing a Vac diaphragm. I proceeded slowly, and all went well. It was gratifying when it actually filled like it was supposed to!
